On Saturday September 22nd, the CSBC will be holding a one day cold water workshop with Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht at the Marriott, Residence Inn in Gravenhurst, Ontario. This one day workshop will cover topics including mechanism of heat loss, thermal protection realities, triage of the hypothermic victim, extraction techniques, re-warming and packaging for transportation. If you are a first responder or you work on or near the water this is a perfect opportunity to broaden your knowledge of cold water and enhance your knowledge and skills when dealing with a hypothermic victim. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the workshop. Cost is $185 and includes lunch. Space is limited. Register on line with a credit card.
