| On Sunday, April 29, 2012, the CSBC will be holding a one day cold water workshop with Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht at the UBC Boathouse in Richmond B.C. This one day workshop will cover topics including mechanism of heat loss, thermal protection realities, triage of the hypothermic victim, extraction techniques, re-warming and packaging for transportation. If you are a first responder, recreational boater or you work on or near the water this is a perfect opportunity to broaden your knowledge of cold water and enhance your knowledge and skills when dealing with a hypothermic victim. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the workshop. Cost is $ 185 and includes lunch. This workshop is being managed by the Lifesaving Society BC / Yukon.
